Owned and operated by Dawn Ey, MerryB Events creates imaginative,
upscale events that reflect a passion for making the guest of honor–as
well as every guest–feel extraordinary and celebrated.
The inspiration for MerryB Events came back in 2003, when Dawn
threw a party to celebrate her son Brooks’ first birthday. Some
said she went a little ‘over the top’. Having planned corporate
events all over the country, she was very experienced in transforming
ordinary business affairs into unforgettable experiences. A one
year old’s birthday was going to be no exception.
With a colorful balloon theme (selected especially for the birthday
boy), Brooks was so enchanted he nearly floated away on a cloud
of red, yellow, green, and blue! His party guests were equally
captivated. Then, in 2004 the budding slugger called for a baseball
celebration. The party was a hit–complete with a custom trading
card invitation (featuring the guest of honor and all his stats,
of course), Cracker Jacks, personalized baseball caps, and even
a special appearance by Babe Ruth.
In 2007 a daughter named MerryBelle entered the picture and one
year later Dawn delighted in preparing her first little girly celebration
… a Ladybug Picnic in MerryBelle’s Garden. Butterflies flittered,
dragonflies buzzed, and ladybugs scampered through the private
garden, charming the ‘Ladybug of the Hour’ and all of her special
guests.
Dawn still takes children’s celebrations over the top… only now
she does it for Birmingham’s premier parents through her children’s
event planning agency, MerryB Events–a name inspired by her children.
